When I write product copy for Matches Fashion
I have been lucky enough to work in-house with the Matches editorial team. As a freelancer, I am assigned a target number of product descriptions to complete. Working on an average of 30-40 descriptions a day, I've had the opportunity to write for luxury brands such as St Laurent, Alexander McQueen and Burberry Prorsum.
And here they are... examples of some of the wonderful pieces Matches Fashion published my copy for.
Chloé's Drew shoulder bag is the optimum boho-chic accessory, crafted from a pretty mix of red smooth leather and pale-pink suede. Premium gold-tone hardware and a neat beige suede lining complete this special piece, which is ideal for pairing with fringed tops and flared jeans.
Sarah Burton's Victorian inspirations can be felt in this light-pink silk dress. It's woven with metallic stripes, and detailed with a ruffled high neck and flippy skirt. Semi-sheer panels only work to flatter the silhouette – continue the look with vertiginous heels.
Alexander McQueen's ivory silk-crepe blouse is an elegant reimagining of a classic piece. It's detailed with a pleated neckline and gathered keyholes on the sleeves. Relaxed in fit, it will make a sleek partner to this season's flared trousers.
Marni's navy suede block-heel boots will add a touch of the label's quintessential luxury to your every day. They're cut with a square toe and heel to a mid-ankle height, and feature streamlining exposed stitching. Wear to complement this season's midi length skirts.
Renowned for experimenting with colour, Marco de Vincenzo adds a typically vibrant dimension to this cable-knit sweater. Crafted from white cashmere, it's styled with a soft point collar and is brought to life by the rainbow stripes running down the centre. Take it from day to night with an A-line skirt and block-heel boots.
Marco de Vincenzo adds a dash of sparkle to the midi skirt with a rainbow-hued metallic knit. It sits high at the waist and slightly flares at the hem. Add a fine-knit sweater on top, completing the look with a streamlined clutch and ankle-strap sandals.
Jil Sander's cashmere-blend sweater combines minimalist shade and silhouette to chic effect. A lightweight grey front contrasts against a mid-weight ribbed navy back, sides and sleeves. The step hem makes it an ideal partner to slim-fit jeans.
In true MSGM style, this white wool-blend cape is the perfect stand-out piece. The contrast oversized star print, slanted front-ribbed armholes and relaxed silhouette make it a dynamic cross between contemporary art and fashion.
With ruffled shoulder and waist panels, MSGM presents a brilliantly contemporary take on the jumpsuit. It's styled in slick black and cut to a streamlined slim fit with vertical pintuck-pleats. Black heels are all it needs to make it evening-ready.
Raquel Allegra is synonymous with the elegantly undone, and this navy crepe shift dress continues the aesthetic. It's cut for a relaxed fit with a deep round neck, long sleeves, and signature shredded cuffs. Slip it on with an equally laid-back cover-up and suede ankle boots.
